Sherry

We stayed just one night at the Escapees RV Park in Livingston, TX, excited about visiting with Sherry in Ben Wheeler. Our side trip to Livingston was a fortuitous decision. Not only did we get our mail, we also missed the weather that turned nasty with high winds, tornado warnings and hail all around us. In the morning we hooked up and were out by noon, just as the rains reached Livingston. We had to drive in the off-and-on rain for about an hour–then into sunshine.

The Staway Ranch RV Park in Murchison is pretty. It’s between a busy a highway and railroad tracks, but screened fairly well from each, with lush green lawns and lots of trees. It’s not very busy, so we’re in a park-like setting with no close neighbors, bright sunshine and unusually cool, dry weather.

We were unhooked and settled in by about 5pm and soon after Sherry arrived. It was a very strange experience meeting someone we had talked to and emailed, but not seen for so many years. None of us had changed a bit, we were just in different, more mature, more worldly bodies.
We intend to spend as much time as possible with Sherry for the next few days, so the blog may become a bit thin. It’s only just beginning to feel real, and not like a dream, but a homecoming of the heart.
