St. Augustine Christmas Lights

National Geographic named St. Augustine among the ten most impressive Christmas light displays in the world. We bought it; took the Nights of Lights tour.

The cider and cookies included were good, and the bandstand had a wonderful Jewish rock band with a great Menorah of tiki-torch proportions, (free latkes, too) but the tiny white lights, spider-webbing off the live oaks above the main green were just quantity, not quality.

A rock'in Hanukkah!

Most buildings were outlined in golden lights, and scores of palmetto trunks were light-wrapped, looking more like Greek columns. Meh. No major creativity. We do wonder how they got on the list.

But, we may be just a little bit biased by our St. James Island experience!
